Renee Vance is a teacher at Spain Park High School in the Hoover City Schools in Birmingham,
Alabama. She holds an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of Montevallo.
She has been a teacher for 17 years working with middle, high school, and college level students.
She currently teaches the Peer Helping class for credit and sponsors Teens Need Teens Peer
Helpers. As the Teens Needs Teens sponsor, she coordinates Red Ribbon Week activities for the
middle and elementary schools. She co-chairs the Peers Committee on the Hoover Coalition Promoting
a Safe and Healthy Community. She is a National Trainer of Trainers for the Peer Assistance and
Leadership/Workers Assistance Program based in Texas.
