Terrie has sponsored a peer helper program at the middle school level for 15 years. Her program
includes peer to peer listening, tutoring, orientation for transfer students and incoming sixth
graders, conflict mediation, leadership training and community service. She also trains other
peer helper groups, presenting at state and national conferences and working with Indiana
Association of School Principals doing summer leadership camps.
Her personal strengths lie in training groups, team building, leadership, and teaching conflict
management. Terrie's peer helper philosophy is rooted in the researched based belief that kids
are the first line of prevention and defense with other kids. "Provide students with tools and
training and step back to guide and support their efforts, peer to peer programs become the
framework to an efficient working youth network," Terrie says.
Terrie is a licensed mental health counselor, certified challenge education instructor, equine
assisted therapist, massage therapist, and wedding photographer.
