Thom is the Director of Guidance at Wellesley High School in Wellesley, MA. Thom began working in peer helping in 1979 when he and
Florence Cranshaw started the first peer counseling program in Massachusetts at Dover Sherborn High School. He has been an active trainer,
having provided training for more than 50 different peer helping programs. He co-taught a graduate course in peer helping for 10 years at
Northeastern University.
He was one of the original founders of the Massachusetts Peer Helping Association, now in its 18th year. Currently, Thom teaches a
Leadership Development course, is vice president for secondary schools for the Massachusetts School Counselors' Association, Secretary
for the MPHA and NAPP Treasurer.
