Most of us learn to deal with conflict through trial and error. This is an especially hard lesson for youth in a world where
violence has permeated many aspects of their life including school. Peer mediation has proven to be a successful tool in
combating conflict among youth. Through mediation youth can open the doors to communication, build healthy relationships,
and turn conflict into successful workable solutions. This 2 day inter-active training will address not only the basis of
conflict and the role of the mediation process but also the dynamics of building a successful youth peer mediation program
that mirrors NAPP Standards and Ethics. Core components of the training will include: types of conflict and methods of
resolution; elements of effective mediation programs from development through evaluation; essential training topics and
strategies; the mediation process, and more. This training is for any adult working with youth who would benefit from the
skills needed to resolve conflict peacefully.

dynamics. Each participant will learn a variety of techniques that will make any
training they lead more fun while enhancing the educational component. NAPP
Programmatic Standards will provide the foundation for all of these skills and

young people make about drinking and driving. This education kit provides all the
materials high school student leaders need to conduct an educational session for
younger students about Zero Tolerance laws and underage drinking and driving. The
materials are designed to encourage high school students to work closely with local
law enforcement officers to prepare and present these educational sessions. This curriculum
was piloted in Florida with a NOYS group from NAPP, formerly NPHA, SADD, School Resource Officers, and
BACCHUS and GAMMA. It has also been replicated in Kansas City, Missouri public schools.

on campus come to life (from Paper to Reality), what's the difference between Tobacco Awareness and Cessation and why
this is important, what educational techniques really work, what is the connection between Tobacco and Weed, what are
some roles your Peers can play and how to get you faculty, administration and even security aides excited about this
issue. So whether you have an established program, a new program or have just been funded to do a Tobacco Prevention
Grant, if you're dealing with Tobacco then this workshop is for you..
